

IBRI: The Directorate-General of Education in Al Dhahirah Governorate has launched the summer programme ‘My Summer... Learning and Innovation 2026’, with the participation of more than 500 male and female students from schools across the governorate.
The programme, part of the Ministry of Education’s summer initiatives, aims to make productive use of students’ vacation time by enhancing their skills, nurturing creativity and providing a stimulating environment for learning and personal development.
Running until July 23, the programme is being conducted at five summer centres across the governorate: Abbad bin Bishr Summer Centre and Tariq bin Ziyad Summer Centre for males and Al Sawader, Al Masarrat and Al Rahab Summer Centres for females.
On its opening day, the centres welcomed students with orientation sessions introducing them to the programme structure, activities and participation mechanisms. The launch also featured introductory events designed to encourage engagement and teamwork among participants.
Hamad bin Salem al Shukaili, Director of the Department of Scouts, Guides and Student Activities and Head of the Local Committee for Managing the Summer Programme in Al Dhahirah, said the initiative offers a wide range of educational, cultural, sports and skill-based activities.
The programme includes workshops in innovation, artificial intelligence, science, technology, arts, life skills, entrepreneurship, volunteering and scouting, aimed at developing students’ talents, strengthening their capabilities and providing practical experiences in an engaging learning environment. — ONA
